Fierljeppen in South Korea

The Dutch Fierljeppen asociation (NFB) has received an invitation, via TAFISA (Trim & Fitness International Sport for All Association), to participate in the 4e Busan TAFISA World Sports For All Games

This event will take place in Busan, South Korea from September 26th to October 2nd 2008 under patronage of (among others) the IOC, WHO and UNESCO.

In cooperation with the two members of the NFB; the Frysk Ljeppers Boun (FLB) and the Polsstokbond Holland (PBH) a team has been formated.

The Polsstok Bond Holland has elected the winners of the ladies, junior and senior league 2007. These are Wendy Helmes, Floris van Elzakker and Jaco de Groot. The union representative will be Eelco Tigchelaar. The Frysk Ljeppers Boun will soon anounce their elected team members.

Teamcaptain in Korea will be Pieter Bult, chairman of the NFB

The games has the ambition to deliver a lively and entertaining experience and offers the unique opportunity to discover the diversity and value of Sport for All. This also includes the traditional and national sports in different cultures in combination with the 6e IOC World Forum on “Sports, Education and Culture“ and a sport congres.

TAFISA and the organizing Comité expect more than 10.000 partipants from more than a 100 different countries and creates with Sport for All a meetingplace for cultural and social exchange between different nations.
